Stork season finished, finally.
This year, our works in the field with the white stork were very very long. It was the first year of trail cameras installing, the first year of GPS-GSM transmitters equipping, and a year with a lot of late broods. Usually, we finish stork ringing at the end of June. This year the very last stork ringing took place on 14th of AUGUST! We also put on the transmitters on the backs of the lates two stork chicks. Good luck guys! Safe journey to Africa!
While some of our storks are currently in Africa (Egipt and one is approaching to Sudan) or the Middle East, some are still here in Poland learning how to fly.
Unfortunately, many of our youngs died during the early stages of the migration. We will write about it later.
