Where are you now, gliding wanderers?
Currently, 17 out of 54 juvenile storks equipped with GPS-GSM transmitters are probably alive. They are rather not moving much. But soon, individuals which are now in the Sahel will continue their journey to more Southern parts of Africa. At the moment 9 of our storks are in Chad, 3 in Sudan, 1 in Ethiopia, 2 in Egypt, 1 in Saudi Arabia and 1 in Poland. Unfortunately, 25 are dead for sure, and another 3-4 are probably dead. And we are still waiting for signals from the others.
